Staff are of course pivotal to any business and we are reliant on good people to assist us in our business, with our seasonal staff coming from a truly global society and from all backgrounds.
While local labourers are more than welcome to apply to work with us, a lack of availability often requires us to employ staff from a range of backgrounds and nationalities. As such, we have employed staff from Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Ireland, England, Germany, Italy, Canada, Tonga, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Timor Leste, New Zealand and the USA. Since expanding our staff intake to backpackers nearly fifteen years ago we have been able to ensure a consistent supply of strawberries to the market.
We now employ the Seasonal Worker’s Program bringing workers in and giving them opportunities that do not exist in their own countries. Many take home the equivalent of three years wages after paying back anything owed to get them here for up to nine months work. This is life changing for many of them.
